The Famous St. Johns Pub in Portland

Sunday–Thursday, 11 a.m. ’til 11 p.m.
Friday & Saturday, 11 a.m. ’til 12 midnight

photoBuilt in 1905 as the National Cash Register Company's exhibit hall for Portland's Lewis and Clark Exposition, this spectacular building was barged down the Willamette River after the expo to its current location, where subsequent incarnations included a Lutheran church, an American Legion post, a bingo parlor and a home for Gypsy wakes.

The ever-evolving domed structure was later reinvented as Duffy's Irish Pub and finally, St. Johns Theater & Pub. And here we are! Friends and families are welcome today to enjoy a casual meal, either indoors or out.

Faithfully continuing in its role as neighborhood pub and gathering spot, our theater (with its excellent acoustics) was upgraded in fall 2014 with new seating, sound system and screen. The theater now features first-run film releases for a reasonable price of $5 matinee for adults and kids, and $7 adults and $5 kids for showings after 6 p.m. Enjoy McMenamins handcrafted ales, wines, ciders, spirits and full food menu during the movie.

St. Johns Pub allows pets at our sidewalk seating only.
