Inaugurada La Primavera ft Alex & Allyson Grey

Beloved Presents a 2-day community activation featuring Alex & Allyson Gray with live art, inspiring music and much, much more...

Spring is always here. Even in these darkest days of this dark year of this dark era, we have hope for the future. Inaugurada La Primavera is intended to remind us that cultivating a vision for a new world, we can fuel hopefulness in times of darkness. There is something unseen in the promise of hope, and just as the promise of spring, it must come to fruition. Inaugurada La Primavera will find and empower that intrinsic connection between hope and vision.

NOTE: Participation in Inaugurada La Primavera is NOT meant to serve as an excuse or reason not to resist oppression, not to organize for change, not to act; it is a recognition that to empower our work in the world, we must nourish our hearts, feed our minds' eyes and rejuvenate connections with our community.

The 4/22 lineup for Inaugurada La Primavera includes:

~ Alex Grey ~

Alex Grey is an American visionary artist, author, teacher, and Vajrayana practitioner. His body of work spans a variety of forms including performance art, process art, installation art, sculpture, visionary art, and painting. Grey is a member of the Integral Institute. He is also on the board of advisors for the Center for Cognitive Liberty and Ethics, and is the Chair of Wisdom University's Sacred Art Department. He and his wife Allyson Grey are the co-founders of The Chapel of Sacred Mirrors (CoSM; cosm.org), a spiritual retreat center for artists outside of New York City.

~ Allyson Grey ~

Allyson Grey is a painter and social sculptor. With an MFA from Tufts University, Grey has long been an art educator, arts organizer and muse to artists worldwide.

Since art school in 1975, Allyson has collaborated and shared a studio with the artist, Alex Grey. The Grey's co-founded the Chapel of Sacred Mirrors, (CoSM; cosm.org), a spiritual retreat center for artists outside of New York City. Together, Allyson and Alex have painted on stage in dozens of cities before thousands of dancing young people at festivals and arenas across five continents including Broadway theaters in New York City. As long-time advocates of "cognitive liberty," a growing international "sacramental culture" has embraced the Grey's as mapmakers and spokespersons for the visionary realm.
~ DakhaBrakha ~

DakhaBrakha is world-music quartet from Kyiv, Ukraine. Reflecting fundamental elements of sound and soul, Ukrainian «ethnic chaos» band DakhaBrakha, create a world of unexpected new music.

Having experimented with Ukrainian folk music, the band has added rhythms of the surrounding world into their music, thus creating bright, unique and unforgettable image of DakhaBrakha. It will help to open up the potential of Ukrainian melodies and to bring it to the hearts and consciousness of the younger generation in Ukraine and the rest of the world as well.

~ Phutureprimitive ~

Phutureprimitive is the moniker of Bay Area producer and songwriter Rain. Phutureprimitive's music is best described as dripping wet love drops of nasty mind melting sonic bliss. Lush melodies drift across intricate rhythms, groove heavy beats and warm, fuzzy bass lines. Often exploring a dark and dense palette, there is also a profound sense of tranquility and beauty, engaging the listener into hypnotic movement and often escalating into a full-on kinetic experience. Shimmering with cinematic qualities, his music ultimately speaks to the body, mind and soul.

~ The Human Experience ~

The Human Experience is David Block's principal project as a live electronic composer, multi-instrumentalist, producer. Listeners experience a delicious symphonic blend of prismatic soundscapes and sultry beats. David is constantly pushing the boundaries of live electronic music. Playing, composing, and conducting his own electronic symphony live on stage, his performances are brimming and layered with human emotion, world exploration, and sacred sounds. Whether performing by himself, or with a live band, "The Human Experience" always delivers an emotionally charged show.
