Concordia Brewery

Established: September 1997
2014 Brewery Production:  289 Batches •
3458 kegs  •  428,792 pints

Named for the neighborhood in which it is located, this brewery opened as part of the rejuvenated Kennedy School in 1997. It is housed in what used to be the little girls' room of the old school, and features artwork depicting the history of beer making as well as the antics of school girls.

Concordia brewers Matt Carter and Dave Kosanke stay busy cranking out the company standards and seasonals as well as rotating property selections such as King's Landing IPA,  Oatmeal Porter and Concordia Pale Ale.  Also worth watching for are the periodic releases from the 'Concordia Barrel Series' – whiskey-barrel conditioned treats for those grown-up students that usually surface in the Detention, Boiler Room or Honors Bars.

Concordia has on multiple occasions represented McMenamins at the Oregon Brewers Festival.  They also traditionally are among the breweries participating in the North American Organic Beer Festival.

A major brewery upgrade in early 2011 saw a new ceiling put in place and the conversion to glycol-jacketed fermentation tanks.  A rearrangement of the fixtures, so to speak, to spruce up the former ladies room.
