Charlton P. Fulton
Head Brewer
McMenamins Mill Creek

Brewing is my personal trifecta of fulfillment.

Charlton P. Fulton (a.k.a. C.P.) holds the reigns at Mill Creek Brewery, the company's northernmost outpost. C.P.'s first encounter with McMenamins dates back to 1992, when he drank his first Hammerhead. A civil engineer by trade, it wasn't long before C.P. was homebrewing, and eventually joined McMenamins as a seasonal brewery intern at Edgefield in 2010.

C.P. loves that beer-making demands creativity, science, and old-fashioned, roll-up-your-sleeves hard work. His proudest brews include the new 2013 seasonal Red Riser IRA, Charlton Fultonand the Kennedy School's Blenshee Blizzard, a strong scotch ale made for Portland's Holiday Ale Festival, which was inspired by his 2012 Barley Cup Winner, Cairngorms Courage. C.P. especially likes the subtle flavor created through rye beers, and is excited about developing craft Belgium brews.

C.P. is inspired by brewers who can accurately replicate a classic style. When not brewing, C.P. can be found hiking, playing guitar, or generally being nerdy. For new brewers, C.P. advises gaining experience, always learning and remembering that every beer you make is a representation of yourself.
