Jerod Davis
Distiller
Edgefield Distillery

Jerod is a distiller at McMenamins Edgefield Distillery. Before he moved into the distillery, he was a greenskeeper at the pub course outside the distillery at Edgefield. When he was 18 he visited Edgefield, which proved to be a moment that helped fuel his passion and guide him to where he is now. Jerod DavisThough he was too young to drink, he was enthralled with the sheer wonder of the place. When he's not creating spirits, he is around town disc golfing, going to shows, or spending time with friends and family.

"The quality of a person's life is in direct proportion to their commitment to excellence, regardless of their chosen field of endeavor." - Vince Lombardi. This sentiment relates to Jerod's advice to someone looking to join the distilling industry. Spend time with someone else involved in the craft. Whether interning or job shadowing, determine if it's a job you could see yourself doing day to day. Yet distilling is not just another job; it's a way of life requiring passion behind what you do.

He finds inspiration and influence from his co-workers and peers. They constantly challenge and encourage him to do his best. He is proud of the Pear Brandy from Edgefield, but enjoys making Hogshead Whiskey the most. The process of fermentation, distillation, and maturation is gratifying to him. If you're going to pursue distilling, have fun with it and find your gratification.
