Okkervil River's hotly anticipated new album I Am Very Far isn't due out 'til May 10, but tonight the band will be streaming a live performance of the album in its entirety! Wish we could take credit for this one, but the Pitchfork website has the scoop on where you can catch the live webcast tonight at 4 p.m. PST.
We figured we'd give you a heads up, to tide you over until the Okkervil show at the Crystal Ballroom later this summer.
Judging from everything I've read lately, I Am Very Far promises to be something new in the Okkervil repertoire (although of course bearing frontman/songwriter Will Sheff's singular touch): a bit more raw, with some clever studio tricks and with a personal intensity.
If you're planning on watching the webcast, it might be cool to follow along with Spin Magazine's exclusive song-by-song commentary by Sheff himself. Have fun!
